KTH RACING'S SPONSORS
Tuesday 08th of May, 2012, 19:27
Last week, three members of our team joined the CNC training at the architecture department last week. Together with researchers of the architecture school, they learned how to use mastercam and the CNC mill down in the workshop. Hand in hand with the department, KTH Racing will manufacture the body plug for the bodywork. Thanks to Mastercam and especially to Jonas from architecture for the support. Benny Nyberg from Sensotest visited our garage last Thursday. As a contributor for temperature sensors, he handed us out a sponsoring package from Optris. The sensor will be used to measure the break disc temperature in our this years car. Optris is a specialist in the field of infrared temperature sensors. Benny from Sensotest talked to some of our guys, that were presenting him the design and concept of this year. Sensotest is a retailer for testing- and measuring devices. Their field of specialization is in contact-free measuring of temperature, position, distance, dimension and surface structure. Additionally, infrared heat measuring is a big part of their work. We would like to thank Sensotest and also Optris for their contribution to our team!
In the end of last week, we also got some working trousers from Björnkläder for the actual manufacturing of the R9e. Check out the picture to the left - the team felt like models, what brought us up to a little funny photoshooting. Today, two of our members got introduced to the 3D printer up in the Mechanical Engineering department of out school. With the usage of additive manufacturing, we will be able to produce customized parts for our R9e. We are looking forward to work on the facilities up in M.
Right now, the Scandinavian Welding Champion Karl Johansson from ESAB is checking out our garage and out frame from this year. Thanks for this amazing opportunity to evaluate our weldings and for the tipps we get from Karl.
